I think this might be a really good psychological choice. I mean, imagine seeing someone who looks exactly like someone you love but lost. It could be a reminder to him of what happened to Gwen and he's hesitant of being with Mary Jane because it for one it hurts to see her face but also because it will remind him that people he love will get hurt. However, he'd also want to be with her because she looks so much like Gwen but also give them some chemistry, so it doesn't look pathetic and isn't horrible like in the original movies. Plus, they could do this amazing type of editing where one moment she has red hair, but then a person walks past her and she has blonde hair like Gwen. That would be amazing in my opinion. But I really hope that Mary Jane Watson in the new movies isn't as horrible as the one in the old movies. I'm really going to miss Gwen because she was a rare creature in a superhero story called a useful love interest. I really hope they make this Mary Jane likable and not just an annoying dumbass in distress. But I just know we'll have to go through the bull crap about the relationship troubles and Peter trying to stay away from her that we got in the old movies.

I love Emma but the only problems is: why woukd they looks exactly alike? That's a bit strange. I love the idea of her going from having red to blonde hair for a second in Peters mind. Also agree about Gwen and her being fantastic, Harry you may currently be my favorite tied with Gwen in these movies but.......dude.

There are actually a lot of people who have look a likes in the world. Scientist actually say that everyone in the world has at least one look a like.

That's really neat the only movie I've seen do that is this really corny movie I watched as a kid "it takes two" but it was twins playing the look alikes who were strangers.

I'm surprised that this is a popular opinion because it does seem silly but it could work.

Why not another actress? I find the idea of Emma Stone playing both Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson rather ridiculous. Nor do I see Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane.

Than add your own actress! You're allowed to add an actress you think should play Mary Jane.

No, I have problems with this idea that Spider-man fanboys love to perpetuate, that Gwen and MJ are both disposable and are pretty much the same woman. They're their own characters and the idea of using the same actress is just ugh.

I do think they should've used Stone for MJ and have another actress to play Gwen. Stone has the red hair and sassiness that original MJ has.

Um am I the only one who thinks it would seem very weird and things if Gwen and Mary Jane was actually the same person??

I prefer the Mary Jane who was in the older spider-man movies
