Stormstar gazed up at the shafts of light that shown through the den entrance. She felt a slight breeze and new that in a matter of sun sets, leaf-bare would be on the way.
It was the saat morning that the kit had been in camp, she hadnt left her den since, but luckily yesterday Rainfire brought her some fresh kill, although neither she-cat spoke. Stormstar had shared the fresh kill with Lilykit but the kit barley ate. Stormstar knew that the kit prabably still craved susu from a mother.
Stormstar glanced down at the kit, that slept at her stomach. She knew it would never survive without a rel mother to nurse it.
So without hesitation she rose from where she lay. Lilykit, squeeled then opened her eyes and yawned. "Whats going on" she squeaked.
"Were going outside"
"Really!" Lilykit jumped excitedly to her paws then scampered towards the cave entrance with Stormstar following calmly behind.
As Lilypaw stepped into the light she squinted her eyes, until they adjusted to the suns rays.
"Wow" she exclaimed, "everythings so big, and bright, and look at how many Kucing are around!"
Stormstar stepped beside the kit.
It was a warm sunny day, quite unusual for the beginning of the cold season. The trees leaf's were changing colors. And many shafts of light shown through the trees. Also most of the clan was resting and relaxing, enjoying the warm air while it was here.
Stormstar peered her eyes around the camp, she noticed Spottedshadow was menunjukkan Nightpaw some new fighting moves in the clearing. Also Bloodpaw and Sprucepaw were challenging each other, who could do the better hunting crouch meanwhile Wavestorm was bathing in the sun. And Rainfire was pulling out a thorn from Mistyflower's pad.
Lilykit was looking around to, although her face a mixture of excitment and fear. Stormstar nudged Lilykit with her muzzle.
"Follow me" she ordered. Lilykit nodded enthusiasticly.
Stormstar padded clamly into camp with Lilykit following the can stopped and stared at the kit. Although everyone was smart enough to remain silent.
Stormstar then slid into a bracken and twig made den that was refered to as the nursery. Lilykit followed. As she approached, Bluefire looked up from where she was nursing Foxkit.
The nursery warm and smelled of milk. Also Bluefire's nest looked warm and cozy. "Bluefire, i hav a saat kit for anda to nurse" Stormstar began, "will anda take Lilykit, as your own?"
Bluefire glanced down at the scared kit,shaking at Stormstars heals. Her face was a mixture of confusion and anger.
Stormstar knew that since Bluefire had been nursing Foxkit for moons, she wouldnt have known that Stormstar brought Lilykit into camp.
"Why should i?" Bluefire growled. Stormstar berkata nothing, she just gave bluefire a cold stair.
Then Stormstar realized that Bluefire wasnt paying attention to her. Bluefire's eye were all for the kit. It seemed that for a moment Bluefire was deep in thought but it only lasted a few heartbeats. Then she glanced back at Stormstar. "A helpless kit needs Cinta and care is going to be turned down for your own sake." Stormstar growled. Bluefire looked down at the kit, it seemed as if she instintivley regretted what she had said. "Very well" she agreed with the calm comforting voice a mother would have, "i have plenty of susu and i cant turn down a kit in need." Stormstar smiled then nudged Lilykit over to Bluefire.
Lilykit began suckling almost instantly, then she let out a soft purr. sejak the way Bluefires eyes were, Stormstar could tell, that she was ready to burst with pride and love.
Foxkit squeaked happily as if she realized that she just got a new step sister. But Foxkit was moons younger then Lilykit and her eyes were still closed.
Stormstar nodded to Bluefire then slipped out of the nursery. She headed for the fresh kill pile, she grabbed herself a seriawan, thrush and ate.
Wavestorm trotted over to her and asked, "so wheres the new kit?"
"Bluefire's nursing her"
"Really?"
"Yes"
"Well then at least theres someone to nurse Lilykit!"
Stormstar nodded her agreement but berkata nothing as Wavestorm grabbed herself a murai, magpie and ate as well.
