I was waiting.

I didn't know why.

I can hear the whispering of the wind against the trees and I shiver as the wind's chilled air reaches my face, pressing myself closer to the pokok I was leaning against.

My eyes found the shimmering quality of the little pearl against the dry soil, and I half-smiled, not even knowing why I was here.
I was propped against a tree, my feet digging into the soil below me.

My hati, tengah-tengah froze with terror as I saw a figure emerge from the trees, and I shuffled my fingers over the soil mindlessly, searching for the little pearl that the stranger had telah diberi me.

Meet me in the woods at midnight, it had read. The pearl was taped onto the back of the smooth white parchment.

I found it, and my fingers closed over it protectively. Who was this person? Did I know him? What was he going to...

Do with me.

I didn't know. My fingers opened just a little to reveal the astounding beauty of the shimmering white pearl, and I rose to my feet.

The stranger got closer.

I took three small steps back, and then the stranger stopped moving along with me. My eyes cari the forest scene, until they found the shining moon right above me. It seemed to shine brighter than ever, and my hati, tengah-tengah leaped.

I paused to talk to the shadow, but I couldn't find my voice. I couldn't even find what to say. I wanted to see this stranger; to know him, and find out who exactly he was.
Luckily, the shadow spoke first.

"Look at the moon."

The saat I heard his voice, my hati, tengah-tengah froze. I couldn't say anything more, and took a step back. There was something about his voice; his sentence... that made me want to be close to him and flee at the same time.

I took another small step back, and then I ran. I flung myself around and I ran... as fast as I could in flats.

It took all my courage not to look back at the strange and beautiful stranger that was far, far behind me now.
