Artemis could not take her gaze off of Wally's face. The deep cuts her father had made would leave nasty reminders of what had happened last night. She closed her eyes, trying to forget the cruel, satisfied smile her father had plastered on his face as she killed him. Yes, he was dead, but the cold memories of him still burned in her chest. "Would anda stop staring please?" Wally insisted, meeting Artemis's gray stare. She lowered her gaze. "He never should have touched you. He never should have come after you." she said. "He never should have abused you." Wally says lightly. "But sometimes people do those things." She didn't respond. He knew this was a touchy subject to talk about. "Hey, anda aren't the only one on this Team who has been abused." Artemis shrugged. "I feel like I am the only one." Wally sat in silence for a moment. "Well... anda aren't." he said, gently pulling off his shirt. Artemis watched, blushing at how well-defined his muscles were, as he twisted around so she could see his back. "This is from when my dad came utama drunk. He sliced my back with a dapur knife." A long scar ran down Wally's back. "So believe it atau not, we have lebih in common than anda think." She sat quietly as he slipped his baju back on. "How do anda even cope with this?" she murmured. "I feel whoever I'm with will do this to me." Wally reached for her hand. "Do anda feel that way now? Here with me?" he asked. Artemis opened her mouth to speak, but Dick had walked into the room. She looked at her hand, entwined with Wally's. She shook her head. Wally smiled. Dick crossed over to the katil where Wally was laying. "Hey bro. Artemis." he said. "I have some..." he paused, glancing over his shoulder. "Problems. I need your help." The two glanced at each other. "What is it Dick?" Wally asked. "You... anda remember how my parents... disappeared?" Artemis cocked her head. "They disappeared? I am so sorry Dick." she berkata sympathetically. Wally glanced at her. She doesn't know they were murdered, he realized. Dick closed his eyes. "I found... I found who took them away from me." Wally released Artemis's hand and sat up. "Who?" Dick sighed. "Tony Zucco." There was an uneasy silence. "Zucco." Artemis repeated. "As in the major crime boss?" Dick nods. "Where is he?" Wally inquirers angrily. "Downtown Gotham. Major drug bust down there." The ginger gets out of the katil and stretches. "When is this drug bust supposed to be happening?" Artemis asks. "10:45 tonight." jawapan Dick. "Then that is when we will go." Dick nods and turns to leave. "Thanks." he whispered. He left the room. "Poor Dick..." Artemis whispered, staring after him. Wally faced her. "Artie... there is a chance ad might not make it back. And I need to know something before we risk our lives." She smiled. "We risk our lives everyday Baywatch. Why is it so important?" He places his hands on her shoulders. "Because Cinta can disappear if anda don't hold onto it. Artemis. I Cinta anda so much. This hero game is getting too dangerous for us. I can't menanggung, bear to see anda in danger anymore. I Cinta you. I want to protect you. Please, let me do that." Artemis gazed in shock at him. What is he asking of me? Say yes! I can still protect myself. I don't know. So many thoughts were racing through her mind. "What are anda saying Wally?" she questioned. He stared at her. "I am 20 and anda are 20. This isn't too young." he dropped to his knee. "Artemis Crock. Will you, please, marry me?" Artemis gasped. "I know I don't have the ring yet but..." She smiled. "Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes!" He grinned, stood up and picked her up all in the same moment. "I Cinta you." he whispered. "I Cinta anda too." Artemis replied, leaning into him.

It was a seemingly normal hari at the cave, and I was enjoying the peace and quiet that came with it being late at night. Everyone was in their rooms- everyone but me, that is.
