Haha, don't worry! Despite the Twilight hate going on most of the time, everyone's really quite friendly here. We won't bite...unless anda bite us first. Which anda haven't, so you're cool. ;-)

First of all, lemme say that it's awesome to meet another sane Twilighter, and I'm glad you're liking the CAT. ^__^

saat of all, in answer to your question...there are several reasons.

1) Many of us have had very bad experiences with Twilight and the Twihards. It's bad enough seeing something anda don't like invade EVERY shopping mall and bookstore and t-shirt kedai (not to mention some of your kegemaran Fanpop spots). It's even worse when some of the crazy peminat-peminat try to ram it down your throat atau scream mindless, nasty insults at anda if anda dare to criticize it in any way. Sometimes, when it all becomes too much, anda just need to vent about it.

2) One of the reasons why I made this spot is because a lot of people - both pros and antis - simply want to get away from the hype and have a real, intelligent discussion about Twilight. When I read Twilight, and when I did research on the other books, I noticed many themes in it that I believe are bad - such as Bella being a weak, negative role model for girls, Edward's controlling, stalkerish behavior towards her, the way their unhealthy relationship was being portrayed as "true love", etc. anda may not see it like that, and that's fine...but I feel these are interesting and serious issues that should be brought to light, and so do others. Talking about them not only helps us form opinions, but also helps us understand exactly why we don't like the series. It's always good to know what anda believe, and why anda believe it.

3) To be honest...hating on Twilight is kinda...fun. It gets addicting. xD Even the Twilight peminat-peminat here get a kick out of it. In fact, often it's not about hating Twilight - we just Cinta humor and we like to poke fun at it. It's so ridiculously easy to laugh at and so fun...it's become our own personal brand of heroine...or catnip. Whichever drug anda prefer. =P

Anyway, hope that jawapan your question. And BTW, it's awesome that anda Cinta Twilight, and we respect that. Take a look at the banner! Doesn't matter if you're a pro atau an anti - EVERYONE'S welcome here, and every kitten is a potential buddy. So if anda Cinta Twilight, don't be afraid to speak up about it! Support your side; add video atau images, write a soapbox about it, whatever. We won't attack anda atau mock anda if anda do that. Heck, we ENCOURAGE it! If there's one thing CAT probably needs right now, it's balance. I think it would be refreshing to see a bit of Twilight Cinta here. :-)

We talk about it all the time because TWILIGHT peminat-peminat talk about it all of the time. And it's everywhere, and we're very irritated with it, especially when we can see all of the flaws with it, which, in my opinion, are a lot and very big, gaping ones. The biggest reason why though is because we feel like people are trying to force it down our throats, and the obnoxious insane fans, and that kind of ticks us off. I am one of those people. It's annoying to have people flipping out over it everywhere I look, but I could handle that okay I believe. It's the Twihards that really get me, Berlakon completely retarded and brainwashed, and saying all kinds of nasty things about us just because we dislike what they like. So what? Everyone has different opinions, let us have them. anda ignore us we ignore you. But they say stuff like we're losers atau something atau crazy simply because we don't care for it. And we can't say anything other than we Cinta it atau else the peminat-peminat will FREAK OUT on us...THAT'S why we're always talking about it. Because the Twihards continuously piss us off, and we just feel like we have to blow off steam. And I think it's good to dissect buku and discuss things about them. But yeah. A lot of people on the C.A.T. spot may hate Twilight, but a lot of people on here like it too. So long as no one fights, the world goes round here. And anda won't get shouted at for pondering something out loud! Isn't it wonderful? :)

Because of all the anti's on here, the Twilight peminat-peminat are intimidated to say anything. anda shouldn't be! We don't bite. I agree with everything LadyLilith has said, most of the time it's not the buku atau movies, but the rabid fans. They can go medieval whenever someone doesn't bow at Stephenie's feet while the rest of the world needs to shut up because they take everything personal.

I don't consider myself a hater. "Twilight" was my guilty pleasure and I can still see some good parts in it. As a matter of fact, if it wasn't for the fans, I think I'd still enjoy the three first buku (I'm one of those "Breaking Dawn" haters). However, seeing the series get so big got me thinking. The lebih I think, the bigger flaws I discover. And I'm not the only one. People here have thought about Twilight too and they all have very interesting ideas to share. Not all of them are haters, there are some peminat-peminat around who are happy to be here and make their points without being bashed. We may not agree with them, but it's great to read their arguments and see there is no right atau wrong, just different opinions.

Another reason, at least in my case, is that the fact of not liking something doesn't mean I don't like discussing about that something.

Another reason, on bahagian, atas of what LadyLilith said, is simply that Debat is interesting. anda don't have to like something to find debating about it interesting. Especially something like Twilight, which at this point is lebih than a book, it's a public phenomenon.
The same way it's interesting to Debat about abortion atau racism, anda don't have to like those things, the discussion is still fascinating (I'm not saying Twilight is anything like racism, for the record, that's just an example of something people Debat about without liking). Twilight is reaching many mebers of the public, and it contains themes some people are not ok with, so dicussing those things and hearing the points of veiw of people who completely disagree is interesting.

There's also the fact that some people are simply annoyed sejak it, and expressng their annoyance is a way to vent. Like personally I'd probably never mention it if it wasn't so popular, because I don't think the messages it sends are ok for the age it's aimed at (not having a go at people who think it is ok, just explaining my point of view) and I like to talk about that concern with others on both sides of the debate. All that as well as what Lady Lilith put. Sometimes it's so shoved in peoples face they need a place to get it off their chest too.

I dont like Twilight never have, never will. If anda like it thats fine. As long as there is some sanity in you. Alot of the girls I find who read it atau talk to the media about it make us other girls look like a needy species. Im not a feminist, I watch princess movies, but to be that upset over a fricken sparkly vampire who is personally not that hot is rediculous and for the media to feed them lebih and lebih crap everywhere they turn is sad. " People magazine" now has Twilight central. Sick, I cant go anywhere without it menunjukkan up. Just sick.

I've never like Twilight in fact I'm a hater but if anda like it that's fine with me. I don't hate the people that like it(with the exception of the crazy fangirls)
We talk about Twilight all the time because sometimes when something really bothers anda anda want to talk about it with someone else. Sometimes anda want to let the rest of the people know that anda hate something just because it bothers anda and anda can't keep it to yourself. This spot is for intelligent discussion about Twilight. anda view Twilight in your own way and we view it in our own way. We won't kill anda about that. In fact we like anda for that. It gives us a chance to know each other better and discuss our papar on the subject. This is not a hater spot so don't be afraid... we don't bite :D:D:D:D

I berkata this somewhere else on here already, but it's worth repeating. I think any time there's something so insanely popular and pervasive in today's culture, and especially among such a vulnerable population, it's the responsible and appropriately self-reflective thing to do to think critically about it and try to understand it's appeal rather than accept it blindly atau even dismiss it outright. Twilight is an escapist vice for me as was Roswell back in the early 2000s atau the odd Gossip Girl episode. I know these things are not exactly mind-blowingly intelligent - the writing's poor, the plot holes are vast and the realism is nil - but, sometimes it's fun to just let go of it all for a while and enjoy the silliness. The problem is, and the thing we have to be most cautious about, is that 13 tahun old girls can't always tell the difference between escapist and realistic expectations and the degree to which their obsessions are extending is disturbing. And yet the marketing continues to target younger and younger girls without regard for the implications. It's irresponsible for us as a society to make that okay.

Well, I think the main reason why we hate twilight and attack it is mostly because we have had a super bad experience with the book atau the Twi-hards. This often makes, anda feel like anda can not find a way to feel sympathetic. Like when I was one hari there were these eighteen tahun old girls all decked in everything Team Edward and walked up to me. They were like do anda like Twilight? I politely berkata no and explained why. I also berkata I loved Harry potter. For a few saat they didn't say anything, but then started taunting me, saying Harry Potter is for "bitches who will burn in hell,"- quoted from them. As much as I make fun of Twi-hards on this spot, I would never say what they said. I was like twelve, almost thirteen. It really didn't hurt me, in just made me upset that people would have the nerve to say what they did. Personally, that was the point when i felt it important that anda can be rude to Twilight- and CAT obviously added to the hatred. But, I think it was good of anda to ask why we say what we say. It was really good of you- anda wanted a good explanation as to why this is... I hope anda understand where I'm coming from. It is understandable for people to get upset, not that anda did, but saying that anyone who is- we do critisize Twilight harshly... but hei everything's got a reason!
I hope this answer helps anda to understand. Also one of my best friend is a twi-hard... and my 1st cousin is a Twi-hard*10 and is obsessed with Robert Pattinson, so all that adds to why I think Twilight is annoying, dumb, and pathetic... but that's my opinion! Hope I helped anda out!!!:)

anda know, I was just asked this soalan sejak my mom today. I'm actually a neutral when it comes to the books. I Cinta THE VOLTURI!!!!! They pretty much stick to the tradtional vampire roll. Being scary and aggrasive. Those are the kind of Vampires I enjoy Membaca about. But when it comes to the unhealthy relationship I see between Edward and Bella, it really makes me upset. I used to be just like Bella, the damsel who couldn't see anything outside of her boyfriend and I let a guy control me the same way Bella pretty much does. I was left and I went into a deep depression because of it. Now that I've moved on, I know better now and to see something so familiar to me played out in a popular novel like this really upsets me. How many other girls are going to go through the same Hell I went through becuase a book told them that being a weak little girl and having a controling boyfriend who does everything for anda is okay. That's what has always upset me about the books. I know anda probably don't see any of that when anda read the book and I know a lot of Twilight peminat-peminat don't, but it's a different point of view. Here at C.A.T. That's okay. I had to explain this to my mom the same way. She remembered all too well having to take me to the hospital after my break up. (Yeah, it was that bad) But, I didn't jump off any cliffs, so I guess I'm good there. I like being able to talk about my likes and dislikes here because I know I won't get attacked for my opnion and this seems to be the only spot I can do that on. Okay, enough of my rambling. Just so anda know though, I'm not a complete hater. I just can't stand the two main characters, but I really do adore the rest of them, I just believe they should get lebih attention then they do. That's just another issue of mine...lol. Wow! listen to me, I'm issue girl. I'll just tunjuk off my reason for loving the buku below and stop ranting now. *Awkward silence*

To be honest, I sometimes think the same thing. Sometimes I wonder if obsessive Twilight haters know that they are just as bad as the obsessive Twilight peminat-peminat when it comes to realizing that Twilight is...well, just a book and truly not worth that much attention. Not to offend anyone on this club (and I don't think that about anyone here)...

But my best guess as to why people express great dislike for Twilight on this club is because this club is the only place they can express their opinions. I mean, think about it. The Twilight series fanclub has over 42,000 peminat-peminat sejak now, meaning Twilight peminat-peminat are almost everywhere on Fanpop. If they expressed how much they didn't like the series in another club such as the Rawak fanclub, what are the odds of an immature, obsessive Twilight peminat bashing them for it? Here, no one can bash anyone, it's like the moto and the banner says.

People here can have whatever opinion they wish, and that's why I think a lot of Twilight haters express their feelings here most often. :)

Personally, I'm here because I can't stand Twilight. There are so many fangirls who go over the bahagian, atas (notice that I'm not saying all the fangirls) with this and assume that everyone loves Twilight. I like to be with others who disagree, and to discuss exactly what I don't like about it. I don't like bashing atau anything, but I do like to get away from the hype.
