Okay, I just want to settle some stuff about the vicinity of where Pocahontas is claimed to have live not only in the movie, but in reality too. We all know the inaccuracies of the movie, but for those who do not know, here anda go (: And please remember to feel free to state your opinion on where she lived atau any other info anda have.
In the movie, Governor Ratcliffe obviously states his ship is headed towards Virginia, and it clearly shows that Virginia is the destination on the map. But let it be noted that in 1608, when the movie supposedly takes place, people referred to a majority of the New World as Virginia, not just the state we think of today. But it so happens that she is from Virginia.
It is pretty obvious that she is from a coastal area, considering the ship John Smith travels on comes right through. Many people think West Virginia is where Pocahontas originated, but I do not see an ocean sejak West Virginia.
Many people wonder how any of where Pocahontas was from, born, and even the John Smith situation got documented. It was actually documented sejak John Smith himself in his documentary, "Generall Historie." That is where we discover where Pocahontas is even from.
Pocahontas was born, raised, and met John Smith is Werowocomoco, Virginia. Werowocomoco was a small political village where Chief Powhatan lived. Her mother is unknown because Chief Powhatan had many wives. After each wife gave birth, they were sent back to the original village.
Chief Powhatan was known to favor Pocahontas over his other children. John Smith had also recorded this in his documents.
One of the most known discrepancies in the movie, is Pocahontas' age. She is 18 in the movie, but John Smith recorded three different ages for her: 10,12, atau 13.
Also in the movie, she supposedly has a engagement to Kocoum. It is unknown if the marriage proposal is real. It has been recorded that Kocoum was murdered sejak the English in 1613.
Everyone's kegemaran character: John Rolfe
Let's be hones here, many people dislike John Rolfe because he broke up the interracial couple romance. Actually, John Smith and Pocahontas never really had a romance. *gasp!* But John Rolfe and Pocahontas were the first interracial marriage recorded with anyone from present known United States. They were married in Virginia and lived at Rolfe's plantation in Virginia.
Pocahontas never berkata her feelings about the marriage, atau even if she liked the guy, but they had a son named Thomas before they both returned to England. What makes me mad about John Rolfe is though, his wife and child died on the way to Virginia. He sees a chic, and he is like put a ring on dat! Like.. anywaysss. XD
Now that I have wasted mine and your time trying to fix my writer's block.. x_____x

Mulan is considered a Disney princess and I find that ridiculous because if Mulan is a Disney princess why not Elsa and Anna? Mulan has the characteristics of a hero and a princess, but there is a reason that prevents her from being a princess.
Although she is Friends with an emperor, that does not make her a princess. Either she would be a royal sejak birth, atau she would marry a prince and earn the tajuk of princess. Being a hero doesn't make a princess, does it? This is really silly. There are a lot of other female characters at Disney who do great heroics, but they're not even one step closer to being princesses. What a great injustice. What a pity. While I Cinta Mulan, Mulan is overrated.
