Do I really have to explain this again? I really like Ariel, but swimming into dangerous waters for a hobby is dumb, making a deal with a sea witch to bad terms is dumb, not getting that a fork is NOT used to comb your hair even after you have seen it in proper use is just unbelievable dumb.

She sees Ursula knowing that she's evil, she goes places that are dangerous, she doesn't think about consequences, and she sold her soul for a vagina

Or Snow White, or Merida.
Cinderella for not escaping the abusing home.
Snow White for being so trustworthy.
Merida for not asking properly what the spell would do. At least Ariel knew what would happen, and both her and Ursula fulfilled their part of the pact.

As to Snow White: 1. She was suspicious of the old hag, and she was trying to stall, but eventually she couldn't put it off anymore, and Snow White just is unable to be rude; 2. A wishing well had worked, what was so outrageous about a wishing apple?

Ariel used the fork as a comb, and realized that was not how it was used and that they thought she was strange. But then she sees a pipe, and, oh, let's follow Scuttle's advice again!

I am still deciding between Ariel and Snow White, both made some pretty dumb decisions. Even though Ariel knew what she was going up against, she was dumb for taking a huge risk that would never work. Snow White trusted the hag, and ate the apple. Even though she was trying to be nice, that doesn't make up for actions.

Jasmine and Aurora also did stupid things, though not as much as the others. Even though i totally understand why Jasmine wanted to escape the palace, she didn't know how to navigate herself and could have had herself killed. As a princess, Running away is a stupid thing to do. Aurora went hanging around with a total stranger, what if Philip was a bad guy? I feel bad for Aurora because she never had anyone to talk to except for the fairies and the animals, but like i said, trusting him wasn't a smart thing to do.

in the end i finally decided snow white. even though I don't blame her, she is too naive.

Okay, I know every is going to vote Ariel but she at least took it all onto herself. Merida did it to her mother and her brothers and got away with it just like Ariel.

I really think every one of them but Ariel is smart- yes, including Snow White. She has good sense, and it is SUCH surface thinking to call her an idiot for the apple thing- and so old. Very, very old. She's 14, she's sheltered, she was trying to be polite to her elders, as Rhythmic pointed out she was hesitant and yes, she had reason to believe it would work. She isn't as gullible as people say, and naivete isn't a synonym for stupidity.

Ariel, however, is not very bright, for exactly the reasons Swanpride and Rhythmic mentioned. Anybody who calls Aurora stupid for being dreamy (what does one have to do with the other?) needs to admit Ariel is, then, stupid too- because she and Aurora are dreamy in very similar ways. Aurora is definitely smarter than she is given credit for, too. She knows her dreams aren't real, even while very flustered she knew to invite Philip ONLY when she'd have protection, and she was able to shake off Maleficent's spell. I hate to compare them, but Ariel knowingly doing dumb things makes her the dumbest.

Belle isn't dumb but along with Ariel and Merida I'd say she does the dumbest act- she's intelligent and goes into the west wing after JUST being told not to, knowing it could have something dangerous in there or that she could be punished or hurt for it!

Merida did one of the dumbest things, but it was done more out of spite than stupidity (though it had some of that too). I don't think she herself is the dumbest, but she's around Ariel.

I think Rapunzel got voted because she does come off as ditzy and is a bit gullible. I don't know that that makes her the dumbest, though. She's book-smart and a fairly careful thinker.

And I won't even go into how ridiculous calling Cinderella dumb for that is. I suppose, then, that Belle is also dumb for staying with a dangerous monster?

Snow White just doesn't believe that people could be bad...which is naïve, but also her best character trait. She would have never left the disguised fairy out in the cold, like the Beast did. She would never judge anybody by their appearance...I mean, we KNOW that this is the evil queen, but everything Snow White sees is an old woman. A creepy looking one, but nothing what she does looks threatening. She pretends to have problems with her heart and when Snow White helps her, she says that she tells her the secret of the apple because she is thankful for the help. In any other fairy tale this would result in something good.
All the princesses do something more or less dumb at one point...Cinderella for example sings the song of the night before because her head is in the cloud. And yes, it was not the smartest thing to go into the west wing. But I think there is a difference between acting dumb once or making a wrong decision and acting dumb all the time. And Ariel doesn't really think through anything during the whole movie. And if she only went for Scuttles advice once, I would chalk that up as "inexperienced" (a description which fits Rapunzel the best) and an understandable mistake. But she doesn't learn from this and keep making the same mistakes again and again - and that's dumb.
