I love Belle and the Beast's dance in the ballroom too but there has always been something about Eric and Ariel's short dance scene that makes me so happy. I die every time he picks her up and twirls her around!

i liked this scene even when i was little...i thought it was so cute.
i think i liked this one because it's the only one that's not like...a slow, fancy dance. In fact, the dance in Beauty and the Beast always bored me.

It's just a casual little romantic dance in some random corner of the city among ordinary people like you and me. It's so much easier to relate to than formal ballroom dancing, and it fits in perfectly with why Eric and Ariel as so easy to love.

Even though Eric and Ariel are the ones who actually lived as royalty their whole lives, they live and act like ordinary people doing ordinary things in ordinary ways.

This is all the more remarkable since TLM was made during the peak of Princess Di and Prince Charles--the ultimate real life version of a fairy tale royal romance (until it fell apart).

This one. I agree with IssacKuo. Everyone is fascinated by the beast and Belle, but honestly, those two as a couple are not down-to-earth people, nor are they "approachable people at all --- so watching them dance together is like watching grass grow for me.
