Before you start saying that she used Rapunzel for too long, remember that Flynn had been Flynn Rider for awhile, and he started going by Eugene (blegh) again.

Hm, Flynn knew his real name. And Rapunzel has always thought that was her name so eh.

Because she obviously loved Gothel. That was the woman who'd raised her and loved her and for the most part had been her mum. Keeping the name would let her hold on to the memories.

I mean... she's been called Rapunzel for 18 years, I doubt she would changed it.

Since Flynn is narrating the movie from the future, and he calls her Rapunzel in the opening narration, I guess so.

Straggy Rapunzel did love Gothel until she found out her true nature but Gothel didn't give a rats hat about her if it wasn't for the magic gold hair she wouldn't want anything to do with Rapunzel

^^ that's true. But up until then, Rapunzel thought Gothel was her mother who "loved her most", and cared for her.

Even if someone found out their mother was slightly evil, I still think there is a massive amount of love for her. I guess it depends on the person though.

I think Gothel loved Rapunzel alot, not only because of the hair. I think they could of made Gothel's demise more emotional for Rapunzel, it almost made Rapunz seem not very attatched to Gothel.

I personally think that her parents never gave her a name, so obviously she'd still go by Rapunzel.

I agree with disney_prince, Rapunzel wasn't really devastated when Gothel died, .....she should have been.

@kataralover: Believe me, you don't just lose 18 years love when someone screws you over. That's why loads of people take back partners that cheat on them - they got hurt, but they didn't stop loving them.

@princesslullaby: i think she was kind of distracted with Flynn at the moment. even if she still loved gothel, she obviously loved flynn more
