This is the Institute in Brooklyn. It is an old gothic cathedral that is run by the Lightwoods. The Lightwoods live in the Institute full time but others can live there if they are approved to by the Lightwoods. Only Shadowhunters can open the doors.

Bennitt took her there then put Andrew in her arms. "I've been working on something for a while and I'd like to show it to you." He sat down in a chair and grabbed hold of a cello. "James."
James walked in and sat down at the piano.
"We've been practicing for quite sometime so I hope you like it." Bennitt begins to play.
