It makes me sad to see people look at the DPs and say MULAN isn't a princess... because frankly why should being a princess matter...same with Merida "she doesn't even have a prince." Why does she need a prince? Especially when I hear "she can't be a princess she is ugly." Why should it matter what she looks like? Don't anyone dare call me an extreme feminist because I'm not even a regular feminist. Also when people say "Mulan and Merida act like boys." Why must you assign gender roles for them to play. I just hate it when a bratty little kid says that ...and by bratty little kids I mean 13-35 year old men/women here on fanpop. In fact I can only hope Disney adds more regular heroines to the list. tbh disney annoys me a lot but nothing can be perfect. Why can't we all just love all characters regardless. Disney made his movies for entertainment not to cause arguments. I swear sometimes we take the movie to seriously, you can hate a character but don't hate them for stupid reasons..."an argument with out facts, is an argument lost in the face of truth." I'm just so done with taking DPs seriously they are CARTOONS if you take them to seriously it will turn into a 'politically correct' crisis I get it talk about DP problems what it teaches kids...but parents teach their kids not the movie so what does it matter what the characters do? It is what it is. so why bring up arguments that end in something we can't change. What I just wrote made no sense, but I wrote it. You may continue your scrolling.

The whole point of a princess is to become an heir to the kingdom and take care of her people. We see this done best sejak Mulan. She saved the entire empire

True. Being a princess in theory means you're in line for the throne, and will one hari become a monarch that governs, guides, and protects their people. This has only really been explored in lebih baru-baru ini films. Pocahontas prevents war sejak standing up to her father and leads her people through peace and wisdom, Mulan saves the empire (but she's not royalty sejak blood atau marriage; the highest she'll get is war hero, royal counselor and/or general), the ending of Tangled makes it clear Rapunzel will rule and guide her people like her parents before her, and Merida shows the harsh reality of what it is to become queen.

sejak the way though, I'm just annoyed with the princess line in general. Mulan is indeed not a princess, but I don't think that's a problem. I think it's great because she's an every girl that rises above the limitations of her society to save it and attains greatness, which I think is great. Merida is an unconventional princess, but like anda I think that should be celebrated, not derided. I think Mulan and Merida have lebih "tomboy traits" (based on gender roles inflicted sejak our society) but I again think that's a good thing because they represent and set a positive precedent for girls with those traits. I'm all for lebih heroines with different personalities, traits, goals, stories, etc. besides the tried and true traits of most princesses in the lineup.

I'm not a huge peminat of the "Official Disney Princess Lineup" anyway because it feels like one has to be a princess to get recognition and adulation, which doesn't seem to be a good message to send society. Esmeralda stood up to injustice and set off a domino effect that helped end a tyrant judge's 20-year persecution in France... but she's not a princess, so she doesn't get featured as prominently as the princesses who wear pretty froofy dresses. berkata princesses also do great things in their movies, but it's not their accomplishments we'll advertise, but their pretty hair and dresses. It just annoys me in general. I think heroines should be able to do lebih to get a movie than be a princess atau wear pretty dresses to market merchandise.

Agreed! I admit when I was little I didn't like Poca atau Mulan for how they acted/dressed, I have better reasons now to dislike Mulan and I Cinta Poca!

"An argument without facts is an argument Lost in the face of truth."I Cinta anda so much.I assume sejak arguments anda mean arguments about whether a DP should be added to the lineup. That is made up of opinions. There is no fact in there. It is a fact that Merida is part of the lineup but an opinion that she shouldn't be part of the lineup and she should be part of the lineup.
