If a man can't hit a woman than why can a woman hit a man?

Violence isn't usually necessary. There has to be a good reason for anyone to hit someone else, regardless of gender. I don't really like the 'girl-hits-boy for humor' thing that's done in movies/shows. I guess it depends on the situation. Though, if it's considered abusive for one gender, it should be considered abusive for the other.

I don't see why there must be hitting to begin with, but if women want gender equality, they can't abuse the fact that it's wrong for men to hit women, but not the other way around. So I do not feel as if they have the "right", but it's fully within the rights of either gender to do so if it is in the case of self defense.

Well if a man hits a woman first then she should hit him right back in self defense. Same goes if a woman hits a man out of the blue and that man hits her back because self defense. Otherwise nobody should be hitting anybody and instead use their words to settle things.

Nobody has the right to hit anybody else in the first place. No matter who you are. But in the case of self defense, it may be necessary.
In short, just don't hit anybody!

Self-defense is the only exception. It also works in reverse (a man can hit a woman in self-defense). But we wouldn't have to hit in self-defense if people kept their hands to themselves in the first place.

Self-dense really. But there are gray areas to everything. As for the person that picked yes. I highly disagree with that and it makes zero sense why have the right to do it. And I would say it's idiotic.

I don't think anyone really has the right to hit, regardless of gender, and even in matters of self defense, while it is sometimes necessary, I still don't think it is the right course of action. As some random person would say, there is always an alternative to violence.

I agree. Women shouldn't hit men UNLESS it's self-defense and vice-versa. There have been series in which girls hit guys (almost for little to no reason) just for comedy and I don't really know what to think of that. I know it's only comedic, but it shouldn't be taken seriously. Gah, my point is, no one hit no one unless it's absolutely urgent.

No one should be hitting anyway but sadly the world does not work that way.
