Well,isn't Fanpop a mini-Facebook?So,should social network be banned?


Don't think so.

Well, if anda are talking about how it SHOULD be banned, anda can elaborate on some of the following:
-It wastes a lot of time
-Why do anda need to be on a social network with Friends anda can see every day?
-It is better, and healthier, to communicate with other individuals in real life, not over the computer
-People put up pictures of themselves drinking and doing other inappropriate things, and this can be a turn-off for colleges and certain jobs

If anda are talking about how it SHOULD NOT be banned, anda can elaborate on some of the following:
-It is a good way to keep connected with people anda do not normally get to see, such as family, distant friends, etc.
-It is a good way to reconnect with people who anda have Lost connection with, such as old school friends, etc.
-It is a good way of sharing your experiences with your friends
-It allows anda to share interests, plan events, invite people to and inform people of events, etc.

When debating, anda should look at both sides of the situation, and whichever anda choose to defend, look at what your opponents might say. How could anda respond? How could anda fight back? Good luck with your debate!

I only have an arguement against it.
No. It is not siriously endagering anybodys life atau health and is choosen sejak free will. From that prospective, it is only a way of harmless socializing.

Banned from what? School? The workplace?

Yes. It makes it easier for criminals to find and attack anda and bosses(and possible future employers) always check it now before hiring someone. It ruins lives and its stupid. DIE FACEBOOK!!!!!!!

Yes it should. I only have it to keep in touch with ppl who have fb, but if no one I knew had fb then I,wouldnt even care

it can be VERY VERY!! bad. like anda can embaress someone and some stories say that people kill themselves for stuff like that. and then theres where anda can be stalked. like someone who wants to find you, and anda put where anda live... tht bad... so yeah... :P

Should Facebook be banned?
No. After graduation it will probably be the only way to keep in contact with my lower classman friends. (Seeing as how some of them have moved already, it is my only way.)
The stuff that happens on Facebook should be stopped before it happens.
I don't see it as necessarily a bad thing, a few people ruin it for everybody.

No, it's not Facebook's fault. It's some of the people who abuse Facebook.

I think Facebook should be banned at school because it takes away from kids' learning time when they are messaging their friends.

Facebook should be Banned because every game that is on it will ask for money, wich is the same as Scamming, the whole site is just a scamming site with a social network cover, besides that, everyone that sees your profile, sees your Friends , wich causes privacy infridgement, also having pictures on there is can be abused sejak others, like hackers stealing anda atau your Friends picture and pretending to be the person on the picture. Also Advertizing companies pay Facebook for your personal data so for example you'll see ads on the stuff anda clicked Like on, wich I think also is a serious privacy violation.

I dont get why people play games on facebook, wich scam them right in front of their face, they might as well get a gaming console and get some quality for the money they are paying instead of zynga crap

Facebook is evil. I hate it. I'm not on there. Facebook to me is NOTHING like fanpop. Fanpop is for people to post things about thier fave shows/movies/etc. Facebook is like an online friggin' diary for it's users! It's like putting your whole life story online for everyone to see! And the privacy settings can be broken sejak hackers worth their salt....plus they give your personal info to millions of companies.etc. I hope it becomes illegal one hari and is taken off the net.

It seems like most of the jawapan here detail reasons why we should ban it to protect people from themselves. What Facebook is doing isn't illegal, and what it can do is spelled out sejak the website before joining. Everyone gets a choice, and they're allowed to leave at any point they wish. There are certainly problems with it, but the majority of those are a part of every social networking site. I don't see any of them as a reason to ban it. I can't think of a decent reason to ban it when everyone enters it voluntarily and can leave whenever they wish.

Beyond that, I think we should be careful about setting precedent with regards to banning things on the Internet. As far as malicious websites go, there's far worse than Facebook out there, but we keep the Internet regulation free anyway. Why? Because the Internet should be an open sumber for information of all sorts. No government should get to decide what is and is not good information, and they certainly shouldn't get to decide how we spend our free time online. If Facebook were banned, practically anything else could be as well.
